Most Chinese people must know that Lu Xun was one of the greatest writers who fought for China and the Chinese people. This great man, who lived from 1881 to 1936, was born in Zhejiang, China.

Seeing that China was called “the sick man of East Asia” by foreign countries, Lu Xun wanted to save more Chinese people from medical treatment. He even went to Japan to study medicine for Chinese. Later he found that the Chinese were not “sick in body” but “ill in heart”. So he abandoned medicine and engaged in literature. Using the pen as a weapon, he tried his hardest to wake up the sick mind.

Lu Xun wrote various books that are really famous, such as Life is a Moment(朝花夕拾), A Madman’s Dairy(狂人日记), Whoop(呐喊) and also other classic prose. He wrote these all for Chinese.

When Lu Xun died in 1936, all the people called him “national soul”. This is the great man----Lu Xun, who always cared about others and served the people. His soul will never die.
