A Half-day Trip to Yuelu Mountain
My family and I had a great half-day trip to Yuelu Mountain in Changsha on January 21th.
I always hate climbing mountains. So during the climbing I kept frowning. But when I saw the view of Changsha at the top of the mountain, I realized that an hour's journey up the mountain was all worthy.
Then, we went to the tomb of Huang Xing. I knew there was a person called Huang Xing before, because there was a sculpture of him in front of Yongfang Hall in Sun Yat-sen University. But I didn’t know much about him until I came here. I didn’t know he was from Changsha before.
After that, we went to the tomb of Cai E. There's a sculpture of Cai E at the Wushu Hall in Kunming, and I visited there long time ago. He was an outstanding military leader in the early days of the Republic of China. I got to know he was from Hunan, and he was buried here after he died.
We also went to Aiwan Ting Pavilion. The name of Aiwan Ting Pavilion comes from the famous poem “Mountain Walk” by Du Mu. It is not only a revolutionary activity resort, but also a cultural relics conservation unit in Hunan Province.
At last, we went to Yuelu Academy. It is one of the most famous academies in China, and it has a history of a thousand year. A lot of people wanted to study in Yuelu Academy before. It was very important in ancient China.
This is my trip to Yuelu Mountain. I enjoyed my journey so much and I learned so much!
