                                                                Making a Meal

In these few weeks, my mother often takes my grandma to the hospital. Both my father and I don't want to cook at home, so we eat takeout every day. On the second day of the winter holiday, my mother took my grandma to the hospital again, and Dad went to work. I didn’t want to eat takeout anymore, so I decided to cook by myself.

Cooking is easy for many people, but it's challenging for someone like me who almost never cook.

At eleven o’clock, I put the sausage into the steamer and let it be steamed slowly. Then I cut the tomatoes, carrots and ham into pieces. I started making the omelette after preparing the oil and salt. I poured all sorts of ingredients and beat the eggs into the pan. But the fire got too big, and soon it scorched. A novice is a novice after all. In a flash I was frightened. I ran around the kitchen and stirred in the pan in a mess. At last the omelette was cooked in the panic. It wasn’t like an omelette when I brought it out. It was black as a bowl of mud. But when I tasted it, it was not so bad.

I brought out the sausage and enjoyed my meal. It looked terrible but it tasted good. This was the meal I had made by myself for the first time. It was great!
