“All the adults are children before, but only a few of them remember that.” This is a saying from Little prince. As a child, I quite agree with this sentence. This book is write by Antoine de Saint—Exupery. He is a writer who can write on children’s side. There are many classic passages in this book but what I love most is this book.
“I show the grown—ups my masterpiece and I asked them if my drawing scared them. They answered, Why be scared of a hat!” I read here if I see myself. When I show my drawings to the grow—ups, they often say “What is this?” They look everything with the most processional eyes and speak abstractly.
When I was five years old, I made a handicraft. It was a black swan. I showed my handicraft to the grow—ups happily, but they said“Oh,it’s a wonderful stone! ” I was a little angry, I said to them “No,it isn’t. It is a black swan!” They looked a little surprised “What? But a black swan must have two wings and a long neck! If you don’t make them, then it isn’t a black swan.”
Like this, I can find myself in this book, not just its content but its style.
A whole book is written in the voice of a child: the sly fox in other stories is lovely in this book;the little prince in the dream became a real man; the goat in the picture became a lifelike animal…This is a book full of innocence that doesn’t prove parents can’t read. Adults can find their own childhood in this book. Maybe they can remember that “All the adults are children.”
