                                                                The Little Prince

Grade 6 Class 4  Jacky Li（李卓栋）No.14

Once upon a time there was a little prince, who lived on an asteroid named B-612. For a long time he was lonely, for there were only two active volcanoes, one extinct volcanoes and a few weeds on his planet. Then, from nowhere, came a special seed which grown up as a rose. Although the rose was beautiful and perfumed the whole planet, it was a coquettish and not modest creature. It said that it is not afraid of tigers, but it have a horror of drafts.

The little prince had taken seriously words which were "without importance", and one day left the planet and his rose. As far as I've read, the rose is annoying and conceited, and so the prince had make the right choice. After that, the little prince travelled the neighbor asteroids, and met different kinds of people. The little prince had other outlooks on values than the adults. He cared about flowers and animals and all living things. He thought the matters of consequence that the businessman said was not important. Finally, he went to Earth as a geographer has told him. But just on Earth he discovered his rose wasn't the only rose in the universe as it told him. There are five thousands of roses in a garden. Just then a fox appeared and it told the little prince how to tame somebody. The little prince suddenly realized, though there many roses, the rose on his planet is the unique one to himself. That is the thing the writer wants us to know. The writer truly understands children.

I think this book is poetic, and tells all the children thinks. It has such full of imagination that the adults can't understand some of them. So the book is written to children, and the adults that used to be children. Then maybe some of the adults who have a child's heart could enjoy the book too!
