Every child had a beautiful dream about animals, and this novel told us an amazing story.
Pax was a heartwarming story about the separation of a boy named Peter and his pet fox, Pax. As a five-month-old baby, Pax’s parents were killed and he was taken in by seven-year-old boy Peter. Peter raised him and gave him the care that he needed to grow; he was devoted to Pax and they developed a powerful relationship.
Then the unexpected war was on the horizon and Peter’s dad told him Pax must go back to the wild. It was heartbreaking for Peter to be separated from Pax. It wasn’t long until Peter took matters into his own hands and set off to struggle miles of wilderness to reunite with his beloved fox.

The books began with Peter in a car with Pax. The first scene was told from the perspective of Pax: “Suddenly the car stopped. The fox felt it before the boy did, as he felt everything first, through the pads of his paws, along his spine, in the sensitive whiskers at his wrists. Peter's anxiety surprised the fox...
Today, Peter lifted Pax and buried his face in the fox's white smooth tail. It was then that Pax realized Peter was crying. Pax licked Peter’s face and then grew more confused. There was no scent of blood but only tears…
After Peter left Pax beside the road, he always thought he betrayed Pax. So eventually Peter decided to walk hundreds of miles to look for his pet fox... While Pax also had a problem. He had no food to eat, no water to drink, no place to keep away from the burning sun and no place to rest or sleep. Fortunately, he met Grey the old fox, and Grey’s enemies—Bristle and Runt. To be surprised, they agreed that they would help Pax to look for Peter. The foxes let bygones be bygones and went on the journey together......”
We’re all animal lovers here and couldn’t wait to read Pax.
