My Cute Parrots

Erin(刘恩瑜) Class Four Grade Four  No.22

I have a pair of pet parrots. The female one is called Lana and the male one is called Slack. They have black striped wings and blue soft-touched feathers around the neck and also on belly. They have beautiful long trailing tails and hook shaped beaks.

Most parrots fly like other birds but my parrots don’t act that way.  They usually launch a few steps before taking off, then jump into the air and start flapping wings rapidly like a humming bird. Their gliding usually ends in a few seconds. I want to figure out why they can’t fly longer then I realized that they are still young and don’t have enough flight feathers.

My parrots react moody. And they behave differently when the mood changes. When they feel peaceful they stand still with their wings stretching out widely like a statue, singing and walking from one cage to another. When they are upset, especially when you try to mess up with them, they bite and pinch your finger hardly. They fight each other but also sleep along. Their favorite food are millet and vegetable. They are very smart and already learned to open the door of the cage with their beaks, so they can fly outside and pick flowers whenever they want.

I love my parrots. They are so cute!
